The following are known issues:
- OpenAFS does not work on the default RedHat SMP kernel.
For that matter, neither does transarc. We have no clue
why. For the record, it appears Transarc's AFS doesn't
work either. If you can get it to work, drop us a line. For the
rest of you, there are a few possible solutions:
- Try the latest version from http://www.openafs.org
- Don't run AFS
- Run your kernel in uniprocessor mode (linux up in
the lilo screen)
- Rebuild your kernel using the standard distribution
from http://www.kernel.org. AFS should work on this. RedHat just did something screwy.
- The OpenAFS package (1.0.3) also contains a bug for csh/tcsh
users. The file /etc/profile.d/afs.csh mistakenly is missing
correct equivalency operators. Both if statements should use "!~" to allow csh/tcsh users to login.
- The package krb5-workstation and sulinux-kerberos
are mutually exclusive. Please do not pick "install everything"
when installing
SULinux, as this will entail installing both of these packages.
- There are many changes to RedHat 7.1, including standard support
for default firewalls (which prohibit RPC-based communication),
as well as greater swap requirements. Please consult the
Release Notes for RedHat 7.1 for all the details.
This will cover most problems you may initially perceive to be
SULinux 7.1-related.
